Oh my gosh you guys this was so easy to make!
And the apples? Sweet and snappy.
The perfect combination for creating a tasty, smooth applesauce.
Why make your own applesauce you ask?
First, you know what’s going into it! The ingredients are simple and clean. Literally apples, water, and spices. I did add a little sugar but nothing in comparison to what you get when buying packaged applesauce from the store.
Second, it really is simple. You can bust this out in less than thirty minutes and have applesauce for a week!
California Gala apples are in abundance right now, so stock up. I bought mine from Whole Foods and they were only 99 cents per pound!
Begin by coring the apples. If you have an apple peeler/corer/slicer, that would come in super handy for this step
Next, using a vegetable peeler, peel all the apples
Chop the apples into similar sized pieces
Place them in your InstaPot and cook for 5 minutes
Allow to vent for 15 minutes
Using an immersion blender, whip the mixture to a smooth consistency. Allow to cool before serving
- 12 California Gala Apples
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. fresh nutmeg
- Core, Peel and chop the apples.
- Add the apples, water, sugar and nutmeg to the instapot
- Cook for five minutes and vent for 15 minutes
- Using an immersion blender, blend the apples until smooth
- Allow to cool
